Euroleague Champions Maccabi Electra Tel Aviv were hosted at the Tel Aviv office of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, where they received a warm welcome and hearty congratulations. The PM received a souvenir basketball from the Final Four, signed by all of the players.

Euroleague Champions Maccabi Electra Tel Aviv were hosted at the Tel Aviv office of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, where they received a warm welcome and hearty congratulations. The players sang the traditional cup-raising song to the PM, who also received a souvenir basketball from the Final Four, signed by all of the players. And of course, everyone posed for a team selfie with Bibi.
Benjamin Netanyahu: “David Blatt and I have something in common – this is his first Euroleague trophy as head coach, and it is my first as Prime Minister. You have brought a lot of honor to all of us, and showed us what a fighting spirit truly is. I was hoping the game would not go into overtime, but Tyrese Rice missed. Nevertheless, we are proud of you, Tyrese. All of you are wonderful. You’ve lifted the spirits of the people, and Milan became the capital of Israel. I was very impressed by your spirit. Thank you all.”
David Blatt: “I want to thank you for receiving us here. Our mission is to represent the people and to bring honor and happiness to everyone, to set an example and to lead.”
From the government compound (Kiriya) the team went on to Tel Aviv City Hall, where they were the guests of honor at a reception hosted by Mayor Ron Huldai, who thanked the team for the honor they have brought to the city.
