Maccabi Electra Tel Aviv will open the 2010 – 2011 season at Nokia Arena against Hapoel Gilboa/Galil, and will host Hapoel Jerusalem in Week 3. The team flew to Europe at dawn on Thursday for training camp.

The scheduling lottery for the 2010 – 2011 season was held last night (Wednesday) at Kibbutz Ga’ash, firing off the opening shot of this season’s Super League.
League Administration, in cooperation with the Israel Basketball Association, honored the men’s and women’s Israeli National Teams, both of whom qualified for next year’s European championships after waging excellent campaigns this summer in the qualifying rounds. The gala evening was also a party for the teams of the Super League which lasted until dawn and included a performance by the band Waterloo.

The game was originally intended to be held at Gan Ner Arena, but it is being renovated.
Maccabi’s new assistant coach Guy Goodes will host his former club when Hapoel Jerusalem comes to Nokia during the third week of the season; Maccabi will head to Malha Arena in Jerusalem on 2 January 2011 for the teams’ second meeting.
Maccabi will face Dan Shamir and his Bnei Hasharon team, which made life difficult for Maccabi in last season’s Final Four, during the season’s seventh week.
The ninth week will find Maccabi going head to head with the always-exciting Maccabi Haifa; the same two teams will close out the regular season together in Week 18, on 20 February 2011.
At dawn on Thursday morning, Maccabi Electra Tel Aviv took off for training camps in Poland and Russia, where on 19 September they will play in the semi-final of the Wrocław tournament against Polish champions Turow at 18:00, local time.
The next day, 20 September, Maccabi will face either Prokom Gdynia or Rytas Vilna (the game for third place will be at 18:00, and the final will take place at 20:30, local time).
The team will remain in Poland to practice, then on 23 September will continue on to Russia to take part in a tournament named for Belov in St. Petersburg.
Maccabi Electra Tel Aviv will play in the semi-final on 25 September against CSKA Moscow at 16:00, local time, and the following day (26 September) will meet either Efes Pilsen or the host team Spartak St. Petersburg, which is coached by former Maccabi head coach Zvika Sherf.
The game for third place will start at 15:00 and the final will begin at 17:30, local time.
