Maccabi has signed Uro? Trifunovi? (2.01 meters, 24 years old) for the next two seasons. The young player, who can play at both the shooting guard and small forward positions, is part of the extended roster of the Serbian national team. He previously played for Partizan Belgrade and impressed last season with Tofas Bursa in Turkey.

Uros Trifunovic was born on December 5, 2000, in Belgrade. His father, Aleksandar Trifunovic, was also a basketball player who spent most of his career with Crvena Zvezda and Zadar before becoming a renowned coach (Crvena Zvezda, Rytas Vilnius, Zalgiris). Before joining senior-level basketball, Uros played in the youth ranks of Turkish club Kars?yaka, where his father was coaching at the time.
Before turning 18, in the same summer when he won the U18 European Championship with the Serbian national team, Uros was already promoted to Partizan Belgrade’s senior squad. He was loaned to Zemun and Mega, and in the summer of 2020 signed a four-year extension with the black-and-whites. In the 2022/23 season, he made his EuroLeague debut, appearing in 35 games, and later won the ABA League with his team.
The following season, Partizan failed to win titles, but Trifunovic gained valuable experience, averaging 11.5 points on 41.2% shooting from three and 5.3 rebounds during the Serbian League playoffs. He added 19 more EuroLeague appearances to his resume, and in the summer, the young swingman parted ways with Partizan and signed with Tofas Bursa.
In the last Turkish League season, Trifunovic averaged 23 minutes per game, contributing 11.4 points on 39.8% shooting from beyond the arc. In the FIBA Europe Cup, his three-point shooting percentage climbed to 42.9%, averaging 10.5 points, 2 rebounds, and 2.7 assists in 22 minutes per game. Additionally, he has already earned 11 caps with Serbia’s senior national team and has been called up to the extended roster ahead of the upcoming EuroBasket.
