“I’m very excited to continue my journey with Maccabi Tel Aviv for three more years,” Jaylen Hoard told the official website. “My time here has been great, and I want to keep improving every day, become better, and help Maccabi win in the Israeli league and the EuroLeague. I want to thank my teammates, the coaches, the ownership, and the management for their belief and support in me, and of course all the Maccabi fans.”
The club invested significant effort to secure Hoard’s stay for the coming years already at this stage of the season, amid growing interest in his services. He is the only player on the roster who started all of his EuroLeague games this season (35/35), and he also played more minutes than any other player on the Maccabi Rapyd Tel Aviv roster this year (7th in the EuroLeague).
The talented forward also led Maccabi in efficiency rating (16.1 per game), provided excellent defense, averaged 11.7 points per game, and led the EuroLeague in rebounds alongside Nikola Milutinov (7.1 rebounds per game). In the Israeli Premier League as well, he started every game he appeared in and leads the team in efficiency rating (15.3).
