Maccabi FOX Tel Aviv is happy to announce the addition of DeShaun Thomas who signed a 1+1 deal.
Thomas (26, 2.01) who recently played for Anadolu Efes in the BSL and the EuroLeague is a versatile left handed forward who can play both the small forward and the power forward positions, he’s well known for being an aggressive player with a soft touch that can also spread the floor with his long range shooting ability. DeShaun can also play the post on mismatch situations.
Born and raised in Port Wain Indiana, Thomas was a stand out in his high school averaging 29.9P, he then committed to Ohio State College where he played for three years (2010-2013) in his senior season DeShaun averaged 19.8P & 5.9R as he was selected for the prestigious all Big Ten quintet. He declared for the 2013 NBA draft where he was selected by the San Antonio Spurs as the 58th selection.
DeShaun’s first European stop was Nanterre with whom he won the French cup,
playin for the French side he averaged 9.5P and 2.8R in the EuroLeague, later on that season he played with Nanterre in the EuroCup where he averaged 13.8P and 3.6R, which landed him his next professional contract: Barcelona. Thomas played for the Catalan side posting 8.4P & 2.8R where in the EuroLeague he averaged 7.1P and 2.4R.
In the summer of 2015 he signed with the San Antonio Spurs with whom he played two games in the preseason, he was assigned to San Antonio’s affiliate team in the D-League, the Texas Spurs where he averaged 15.4P and 6R, he then moved to the Turkish side Anadolu Efes Istanbul. In the BSL he posted up 10.3P & 3.2R while posting 7.3P and 1.7R.
In his three EuroLeague seasons Deshaun averaged 7.5P and 2.1R with 54% for 2p and 34% for 3p.
