Maccabi FOX Tel Aviv will try to finish the Israeli domestic league with a moral boost as they will face Hapoel Tel Aviv at the Shlomo Group arena (Monday, 20:00CET Sport5). Pierre Jackson and Art will not be registered for the game.

Coach Neven Spahija addressed the upcoming derby: “We had an excellent practice, I highly appreciate what the players did today. Maccabi needs to know how to play against any team and at any time. We can’t think now about losing the Israeli cup and about the elimination from the Euroleague, we have to do our best in the league”.

The team captain John DiBartolomeo added: “We’re enjoying to play against Hapoel and from the challenge. It’s disappointing that we haven’t qualified to the top eight but we’re professionals we will continue to play hard and to prepare to our next game as if it is the most important game. Finishing the season is the most important part, if we’ll continue to get better and to play our good basketball in money-time in the Israeli league we will be in great form, every game is important especially when it’s a derby”.

Jake Cohen summarized: “We’re all disappointed with the outcome in Spain; but we had a good practice and we are really looking forward for the game. This is an excellent opportunity for us to get back on track, we remember what happened in our last game against them, and we want to finish the second round of the domestic league with a win. We’re not thinking about Hapoel, we’re focusing on ourselves”.
