Ironi Nahariya can sum up with satisfaction their first ever visit to Yad Eliyahu. Although they lost 71-83 to Maccabi Elite Tel Aviv they gave a very good account of themselves.
Avi Ashkenazi’s boys played without any inferiority complex and took a 19-13 lead and 25-24 at the end of the first quarter. At the half Maccabi were leading 48-39 and many people expected a blowout in the second half. This did not happen and Maccabi won by 12 pts.
The main difference was Nikola Vujcic who scored 25 pts, pulled down 9 rebounds and dished 3 assists.
