Maccabi Tel Aviv Basketball Club is happy to announce that Greek player Nestoras Kommatos has joined the club on a two years contract.
Kommatos (27, 2.03), who plays as a small forward, was the Hellenic League top scorer last season with an average of 21 points. In 26 league games with Aris Thesaloniki, he had the following averages: 34 min, 6.8 rbds, 2.2 ass, 1.6 stls. He had 60% for 2 pts, 34.5% fof three pts and 72% in FT.
In FIBA’s Europe League he played 17 games including two vs Hapoel Tel Aviv and he was fourth scorer in the league with 18.9 pts. Other averages: 33 min, 4.9 rbds, 2.6 ass, 1.8 stls. He made 58.1%in 2 pts shots, 34.5% in 3 pts and 72.0% in FT.
Kommatos was born on 04/05/77 in Larisa, Greece, where he started his career. Until 2000 he played for the local club before moving to Makedonikos. Then he played one season for Paok Thessaloniki and last summer moved across town to Aris under coach Charles Barton, ex assistant coach of Maccabi Elite Tel Aviv.
