Maccabi Electra Tel Aviv’s Israeli point guard Yogev Ohayon signed a three year contract extension with the team yesterday. “I’m very happy to be staying with the club; Maccabi is my home and it’s where I belong.”

Maccabi Electra Tel Aviv is happy to announce that their Israeli point guard, Yogev Ohayon, has signed a three year contract extension with the team. “I’m very happy to be staying with the club; Maccabi is my home and it’s where I belong. We’re building a very strong team, and next season we must take back the championship title,” said Ohayon.
Head coach Guy Goodes remarked, “We’re very happy that Yogev will be continuing for three more years. His character and the work ethic he brings to every practice and every game are admirable. Yogev is not only talented, he’s a symbol of hard work, toughness, and excellent character, and it was very important to us that he continue with Maccabi.”
Yogev joined Maccabi for the 2011-12 season and has played for Maccabi for the last four seasons, during which he has won 4 Israeli Cups, 2 Israeli championships, 1 Adriatic League championship, and of course the unforgettable Euroleague championship of 2014. Last season he served as team captain, replacing the injured Guy Pnini. He played an average of 30 minutes per game, even while injured himself.
Ohayon finished third in the ranks of top passers in the Israeli League, averaging 5.9 assists per game, and first in the league in the assists/turnovers category, with 3.5. In addition, he contributed 8 points and 3.7 rebounds per game. In the Euroleague, he posted averages of 5.5 points, 3.8 assists, 3.1 rebounds, and 1.4 steals. In the away game against Limoges of France, Yogev set a new Maccabi record for steals in a single game, with 8.
