Gal Mekel, who played in the European Championships for the first time this summer, and led Gilboa/Galil to the Final Four of the Winner League last season, has returned to the club where he got his start and took the Youth Championship – Maccabi Electra Tel Aviv.
The young guard will take part in the first full team practice on Tuesday, after having enjoyed (along with the rest of the National Team players) a few days off.
On Monday, Mekel underwent a light fitness practice.
Mekel is excited about his return to Maccabi: “After talks with all the top folks in Maccabi Tel Aviv, including professional staff and management, and after consulting with my agent, my parents and others, I decided to stay with Maccabi, which is after all my home.
I’m happy about that decision, and am looking forward to starting practice on Tuesday.
I can’t wait to rejoin the team.”
