Sarunas Jasikevicius was last night elected to the All-Euroleague team for the 2003/04 season In an impressive ceremony at the Hilton Hotel in Tel Aviv he received his trophy from ex Maccabi TA star Mickey Berkowitz. The players were chosen by media fro around Europe and ratified by the Euroleague Technical Commission.
Saras was chosen in the point guard position. The other players selected: At guard Marcus Brown (CSKA), forwards Mirsad Turkcan (CSKA) & for the third year in a row Dejan Bodiroga (Barcelona). Arvydas Sabonis, the Euroleague MVP, was chosen at center.
Saras is the first Maccabi Elite Tel Aviv played to make the All-Euroleague Team. Nikola Vujcic was selected for the second year in row as center of the second team. In the 2001/02 season Arriel McDonald was also in the second team.
