Maccabi FOX Tel Aviv is proud to announce that they have signed Sonny Weems (29, 6’6”) to a two year contract.
After his official signing, Weems said, “I’m very happy to be joining Maccabi after playing against them many times at the highest levels of European basketball. I’m excited to return to the Euroleague, especially in the new format, where every great team will play head to head. I can’t wait to come to Tel Aviv and start preparing for next season.”
Weems is an athletic guard/forward, one of the most outstanding players in Europe in recent years. An extremely versatile player with excellent shooting ability from both three point range and the middle distance, Weems also loves to penetrate to the basket. He is skilled at creating opportunities for himself and others, and is dominant at both ends of the court. Weems is an experienced competitor at the highest levels who knows how (and loves) to take charge of the ball at the crucial moment.
