Maccabi Tel Aviv are now holding a 7:5 record in the EuroLeague standings after the 101-86 loss to CSKA, the yellows have to recover fast as they’re headed to a double round week facing Panathinaikos on Tuesday (Athens) and non-other than the reigning EuroLeague champs Fenerbache on Thursday.
Coach Spahija: “We’re still not in CSKA’s league but we’ll get there. The better team won, I said in the past that CSKA is in a league of its own. In the second half we stepped up, but the unsportsmanlike foul called against Cole killed the game”.
Coach Spahija also referred to Cole’s great game: “He was one of our best tonight, we all showed sparks tonight but that’s not enough, we had a few players that did not
played in this level”. On defense: “I don’t have any problem that CSKA scored so many points, I have a problem with other teams scoring a lot against us. We need to believe in ourselves and one in another, I don’t blame my players and I believe in them”.
