After getting the win at Holon, Maccabi FOX Tel Aviv wanted to continue their positive momentum at Ashdod. The locals took control over the game and managed to impose their will, Maccabi made a few comeback attempts but ended up coming short as Ashdod managed to get the 85:79 win. Maccabi drops to an 18:9 record in the standings.

“They had way more energy than us and tonight they made two runs after making very tough threes”, said coach Neven Spahija. “At one point they scored three threes in one on one, when you look at the stats, we had 24 points on second chance, and they scored 24 points on fastbreaks, details decided the game, but if I had to pick just one thing I would say that they (i.e. Ashdod) had way more energy than us. They are having an amazing season, and I’m giving them and their coach the credit, they’ve proven that they are serious contenders for the domestic championship”.

“They reacted every time we a run”, said Michael Roll. “They deserve the credit, they made a lot of big shots, we should’ve never dug ourselves such a hole. We’ll learn from this and move on. Maccabi Tel Aviv is the best team in the league”.

Jeremy Pargo, who landed on Sunday, passed his physicals and will start practicing with the team.
