Coach Neven Spahija after the huge win in the derby: “We played more consistently than in any other game”. Nimrod Levi: “We came with energies from the beginning and we fought on defense”
“I want to congratulate our team, especially the fans, I know how important this game is to them”, said coach Neven Spahija after the 89:57 win over Hapoel. “We did it the right way, we played more consistently than in any other game. To reach the right chemistry takes time and especially when you play without a point guard. I want to give credit to my team for how they played the game. We prepare to every game, to win by the biggest margin, we don’t expect it but we do everything so that we can achieve it, if I’ll say I’m surprised it means we didn’t prepare for it”.
Coach Spahija also addressed the injured backcourt: “We’re waiting for both of our point guards, but we’re looking at the market, it’s not the best time to be on the market, there are free agents but we will not make this decision fast, I will not bring a player just for the sake of just bringing one, it has to be the right player”. When asked about the game MVP coach replied: “I love Nimrod’s attitude, he works hard and he knows his position. His first game was difficult we talked and he spent a lot of time on the court. I love him very much and we’re seeing the results”.
“We came with energies from the beginning and we fought on defense”, said the game MVP Nimrod Levi. “We played together on offense, we shot well and things went good from the beginning. The derby was very important to all of us, we prepared to come and give it all we got, I’m glad we did that. I want to help the team in every game, I will continue to work hard and when they’ll call me I’ll be there. My first game was after I came back from my injury, coach told me that it takes some time and that it’ll be better”.
