“Congratulations for Panathinaikos on the first win in the EuroLeague. It was a close game, we lost focus in the last quarter, they made so many cheap baskets today”, said coach Neven Spahija. “When you look at the stats, you can see the only difference is turnovers in their favor and they are so good and experienced to let us have so many turnovers”.
“I think we played pretty well”, said Tarik Black, who finished the game with 14P & 6R. “We did some things really well, we showed our potential, we showed what we’ll turn into and where we could be, we got to clean up a few things and I’m very optimistic because we see the things that we need to clean up we see the things that we need to get better at so we plan on doing it moving forward and I think that tonight we showed how great we can really be and we’re going to be working hard to reach our potential”.
“I think we could have been a little fatigued”, said Scottie Wilbekin, who led a fighting squad in yellow and blue. “We had some good shots some possessions were good, some possessions we need to work on to get better shots down the stretch making better decisions, but I think that the reason we lost this game was too many turnovers, I had too many turnovers with a few crucial ones and letting them get easy buckets whether in transition or just not paying attention on switches, that’s what it came down to but I’m proud in the way we played we made a step forward today”.
