Maccabi will open its season next week and it will do so eagerly after beating Naharya in the finals of Winner Cup 93-73 and winning its first title of the season in front of 3500 fans who colored Holon’s gym in yellow
DeShaun Thomas, who scored 20 points said: “it feels great, we have a new team, we won a title and I want to thank my teammates. We’ve played the Maccabi basketball, listened to the coach and we won. It’s all about working hard and team effort.”
Michael Roll who also won his first title with the yellow jersey added: “We’re a new team, and winning a title is always a great accomplishment. Though I played substantial minutes at the PG position, it’s not my “natural” position, I’ll do whatever is needed for the team including playing as a
point guard which I’ve done in the past”.
