A new era begins in Israeli basketball: the most decorated basketball club in the world and the leading fintech company have signed a groundbreaking sponsorship deal for the next 7 years
The relationship between Maccabi and Rapyd began in the summer of 2020, with an initial five-year sponsorship agreement. Now, with both sides seeking to deepen their collaboration, a new and expanded agreement has been signed, making Rapyd the main sponsor of the team.
From this moment on, the team’s official name will be Maccabi Rapyd Tel Aviv, and Rapyd’s logo will proudly appear on the front of the players’ jerseys.
This new agreement brings with it a bold, forward-thinking vision that will propel Maccabi into a technological and global era — one defined by innovation, creative thinking, and international collaborations that connect sports, community, and advanced technology.
The partnership is unprecedented not only in its duration but also in its financial scale, representing a remarkable vote of confidence in the club and its commercial and international potential. It is among the largest and most significant sponsorship investments seen in the local sports landscape.
Rapyd is a global fintech powerhouse that develops innovative payment solutions and provides processing services to millions of customers worldwide. The company enables businesses to send, receive, and manage payments across more than 100 countries — simply, quickly, and securely. With a major operations hub in Israel and activity centers around the globe, Rapyd is recognized as a leader in the global fintech industry.
“In recent days, we finalized a multi-year sponsorship agreement with the esteemed company Rapyd, a leader in its field,” said Maccabi Tel Aviv Chairman Shimon Mizrahi. “It is a great honor for our basketball club that Rapyd, as part of its community-focused efforts, chose to sponsor our team. Just like Rapyd, which operates globally, our team plays across Europe and, this year, even in Dubai — significantly increasing exposure for the brand. I am confident this close relationship will be another pillar of strength and stability for our beloved team, and for that, we extend our heartfelt thanks to Rapyd.”
“As a company with deep roots in Israel and global influence, we are truly excited about our partnership with Maccabi Tel Aviv,” said Arik Shtilman, Co-Founder and CEO of Rapyd. “We believe in the power of sports to unite people, values, and technology — and Maccabi is the perfect platform for that. This is more than a sponsorship; it’s a statement of shared purpose.”
On the professional and technological front, Shtilman added: “European basketball is at a pivotal moment ahead of major growth and expansion into new markets in the Middle East and Asia. We believe this partnership has cross-continental potential and will also enable us to leverage cutting-edge AI technologies to enhance fan engagement and boost player performance.”
“This is a moment of immense pride for all of us,” said Modi Peled, CEO of Maccabi Tel Aviv Basketball Club. “Rapyd is much more than a partner — they are part of the Maccabi family. This agreement reflects true belief in the club and our ongoing ambition to combine sports of excellence with values of progress, inspiration, and global vision.”
“This strategic move places Maccabi exactly where it strives to be — at the forefront of the sports world, both in terms of business and brand,” said Doron Jamchy, VP of Marketing and Sales. “Rapyd is a full partner in this journey, and the activities we will launch together in the coming years will reflect our shared vision and the power of the Maccabi brand.”
