Sylven Landesberg completed his basic training in the IDF yesterday (Wednesday) with a moving induction ceremony held at the Museum of Underground Prisoners in Acre. Club chairman Shimon Mizrahi, head coach David Blatt and Sylven’s teammates from Maccabi Electra Tel Aviv surprised him by attending the ceremony. Their presence generated great excitement amongst the soldiers, many of whom requested a photo.
At the end of the ceremony, Landesberg said, “It was an incredible experience, one that definitely shapes your character. I’m glad I did it. I was very excited to see all of the guys, and the staff. It’s an honor to be a soldier in the Israel Defense Forces.”
