Maccabi Tel Aviv lost their opening game in the KAMKABEL International Junior Tournament in Hadar Yosef, 75-85 to Montepaschi Siena.
The Italians won mainly because of their superiority in shooting percentage: 52-38 in FG (38-23 in three pointers).
Tope scorers for Maccabi: Omri Caspi 22 pts & 5 rbds, Niv Berkowits 20 pts & 6 rbds, Yoni Nor 18 pts & 10 rbds. For Montepaschi: Scraponi 20, Tagliaube 14, Cavallaro 14.
Last year’s winner, Zalgiris Kaunas lost to CSKA Moscow 60-70.
Tomorrow (Friday, 18:15), Maccabi will play Reflex Belgrade. The Final will be played Saturday (14:30, Live on Channel 5).
