The Yellow & Blue summarized the win and clinching to the Winner Cup Semi-Finals. Sfairopoulos: “I’m very happy for the young Israeli’s who got to play today”. Blayzer: “I’m sure it will only get better and better”
“I’m very happy for the young Israeli’s who got to play today”, Said head coach Giannis Sfairopoulos in the postgame press conference. It wasn’t an easy game for them because they didn’t get to play until now as we had only three preseason games, and in those exhibitions, I had to prepare the team for the EuroLeague games. Today you saw the next generation of Maccabi Tel Aviv, how we invest in the youngsters and want them to play, and I’m really excited about that”.
“Generally, we controlled for most of the minutes, played good defense, and had a comfortable double-digit advantage in the second half. We need to continue from here, we want all the players to be ready for all the games, not only for the Israeli competitions, and improve from week to week”.
Oz Blayzer, who scored a season-high 19 points, spoke after clinching to the Semi-Finals: “Coach gives me confidence, but I believe the team and I can play even better than today. I’m happy we had a good game, and we got the victory, that’s the most important thing. I’m glad in my spot, and I’m sure it will only get better and better. I’m happy the start has been good so far, and hopefully, it will continue to go up”.
Idan Alber, who made his official return, said after the game: “I came back knowing the situation, but I always need to be ready mentally to come in. Maccabi is a great club with fantastic staff members, and this has been my home since playing here as a kid. From here, I’m looking to grow, give back to the club, and help as much as possible”.
