“We have potential to do a lot of great things this year”

Jake Cohen opened up about the roster’s continuity: “I think we have a big advantage, last year it was a completely new team from top to bottom from coaches down to players. This year we have some continuity with players coming back so I think it’s gonna be a big advantage for us as we have some players knowing each other, we have a coach that can help the new guys to get started that much faster and that’s such a big advantage I’m sure it will really help us”.

When asked about knowing the new players Cohen replied: “Only by reputation, I’ve never met those guys before, but I’m really excited to meet them and get to work, their reputation proceeds them they are really talented guys obviously their r?sum? is very impressive so I’m really excited about the team we have and the roster Maccabi built”. Jake added: “I think we have potential to do a lot of great things this year”.   

“Got to spend some quality time with some family and friends, got to spend some time in my house which is great” Jake said, “It was great having the summer after winning the championship, I’ve never had that before so it was cool. It’s a great motivation honestly, once I got the taste of it I want some more”.

Talking to Maccabi’s official website Jake also addressed the great summer that both Deni Avdija and Yovel Zoosman had with the U20 Israeli NT: “I’m very excited for them, a lot of their hard work this year was able to manifest itself this summer for them, you got to see what they can do with opportunity, they have another great opportunity this year”. 

“The great thing about helping those guys is that it helps me too, When Zoos (i.e. Yovel Zoosman) plays well, it’s good for our team it’s good for me, it’s good for everybody so that’s what I want. I’m really excited for Deni and Zoos, they deserve it, the guys work hard they’re great kids so I’m excited working with them again this year”.
