Maccabi’s head coach Giannis Sfairopoulos’ after the 101:91 home win over Eilat: “I told to our players that we need to be more aggressive”. Zoosman: “Eilat was a persistent opponent”
“Today we watched a very interesting game, a game with great offenses”, said Coach Sfairopoulos. “We started the game really good and we wanted to play better defense, we always had a small lead but we that Eilat is a team that will fight hard, they are a good team and I think that it was very important that when Eilat got the lead five and a half minutes before the end we became very serious and played great defense and we had great plays defensively and offensively”.
“The 2-3 steals made by Zoosman at the end were very important”,
coach added. “The way we moved the ball on offense was very important, how Wilbekin got into the game in the last period, but it was the effort of all the team at the end as you saw that six players scored in double digits, offensively we played good but we need to improve defensively, I told to our players that we need to be more aggressive”.“I think that Eilat was a persistent opponent”, said Yovel Zoosman. “It’s hard to get a big lead against them, I’m glad that at the end we capitalized and won the game. First of
all we had fouls to give, we played better defense, and we picked up our level of aggressiveness, it was important. We made transition threes’, grabbed rebounds and didn’t allow them easy baskets. We need to pick up our level of aggressiveness, to lower the amount of points we allow our opponents and I hope that we will do that down the road”.
