Coach Neven Spahija after the 99:66 win over Holon: “We saw how one healthy player that is able to play is important for Maccabi”. Scottie Wilbekin: “we wanted to c ome out strong after our last game”
“I want to give credit to my players for such performance 24 hours after such a tough loss”, said Coach Neven Spahija. “We came back and we showed personality and at the end of the day talent, the players showed how important it is to play for themselves and the fans and also we saw how one healthy player that is able to play is important for Maccabi”.
“The only thing I am sorry is, and not only because we lost the games but because we didn’t play with a full roster, if you lose the game with a full roster and you are smart you are going find out how to make the team better, if you are playing without the important pieces it is very difficult. We lost the games and now we hope that the game in Gran Canaria we are going to play with Tarik Black and with those who didn’t play tonight and start to build”.
“We played hard and came out aggressive”, said the game MVP Scottie Wilbekin. “We tried to put them on their hills, we wanted to come out strong after our last game. I’m getting better and feeling better every day and trying to help the team however I can. We have to play mainly for ourselves first and then think about everything else”.
