Maccabi Playtika Tel Aviv registered their third consecutive win with a 100:74 win over Hapoel Be’er Sheva, improving their record in the Israeli Winner League to 9:2 on the season. The Yellow & Blue’s next opponent is Maccabi Rishon LeZion, which will come into Menora Mivtachim Arena on Sunday evening.

Giannis Sfairopoulos’s unit played excellent team basketball, finishing with five double-digit scorers. Othello Hunter led the way with 16 points, Oz Blayzer tallied 15 points and eight rebounds, John DiBartolomeo added 15 points and five assists, while Scottie Wilbekin scored 11 points and dished 6 assists.

Sfairopoulos spoke about Maccbai’s past performances: “I saw great concentration, determination, and readiness from all of the players. This is essential for the continuation of the season. Whoever came out to play gave the team their maximum, making me happy because they all played in the same mentality. We wanted to react after the loss last week to Giloba, and these three games showed we did that in the right way, but we have another week in front of us”.

“We have a great atmosphere in the locker room and great appreciation between all of the players”, Added coach Sfairopoulos about the support between his players. “In the end, we are a family, so when someone does something very good, everybody is happy for him”.

“We came out focused from the beginning. Be’er Sheva plays hard for all forty minutes no matter what the score is, so a lot of credit to them. They can get it going at any point as they get up and down a lot and lead the league in different categories. So we had to play it to our game, and I think we did that today”, Said the Yellow & Blue captain John DiBartolomeo after the convincing win.

“I’m always trying to get better and grow. I still have many ways to go, and, as a team, we have ways to go. The most important thing is that we’ll improve and get better every day”.
