In the draw for the 2014-15 season, Maccabi Electra Tel Aviv has drawn Group B, along with CSKA Moscow, Unicaja Malaga, Alba Berlin, Cedevita Zagreb and Limoges CSP.

Club chairman, Shimon Mizrahi: “The draw has put us into a group with some very interesting teams. CSKA is always strong, and we still have fresh memories from the last Final Four. Malaga is a strong Spanish team, Alba is a rising force in basketball, Cedevita reached the Final against us in the Adriatic League in 2012, and Limoges is once again becoming a big name in European basketball. Obviously, we will need to sign more than a few new players, but we will do everything possible to make sure that Guy [Goodes, Maccabi’s new head coach] and our wonderful fans have a strong, high quality team. There’s a long way to go, but we are confident in ourselves.”

Newly-appointed head coach, Guy Goodes: “It’s a good, interesting draw. Our goal for the first stage of the season is, of course, to reach the Top 16. We need to finish filling out the roster, and build the best and strongest team we can in order to meet the high standard we set for ourselves last year. Everyone is speculating over what’s good and what’s not, what’s easy and what’s difficult, but at this stage of the season it’s simply impossible to know how the teams will look. Overall, our group looks like it won’t be an easy one, but we need to focus on ourselves, and take things step by step, just like we did last year with great success.”

All of the Groups:

Group A: Real Madrid, Anadolu Efes Istanbul, Zalgiris Kaunas, Nizhny Novgorod, Dinamo Sassari, EL QRS Winner.
Group B: CSKA Moscow, Maccabi Electra Tel Aviv, Unicaja Malaga, Alba Berlin, Cedevita Zagreb, Limoges CSP.
Group C: FC Barcelona, Panathinaikos Athens, Fenerbahce Ulker, EA7 Emporio Armani Milan, FC Bayern Munich, Turow Zgorzelec.
