After five great seasons with Maccabi, winning three Euroleague titles, and two Euroleague MVP awards, number 8 joins the NBA
Anthony Parker, Maccabi Elite Tel Aviv player for the last five years, has requested the Maccabi management to enable him to play for the Toronto Raptors in the NBA. This although he is still under contract with Maccabi for the 2006/07 season. The management considered his application and taken into account that Anthony is already 31 years old and this may be his last chance to play in the NBA, Maccabi decided to release him from his contract. The club is proud that one more of their players has joined the NBA. Parker joined Maccabi in summer 2000. After two seasons he returned to the US and then joined Virtus Roma for the second part of the season. He returned to Tel Aviv in September 2003 and played three more seasons with the team. In five seasons the team reached five Eutroleague Final Fours and won three Euroleague titles. Anthony played 114 Euroleague games scoring 1,804 pts. He also won five Israeli Super League Championships and five National Cups In the last two seasons Anthony was declared Euroleague MVP. He was also twice the Super League MVP.
