After the win against Efes on Thursday, Maccabi FOX Tel Aviv continued its positive momentum against Hapoel Jerusalem in the 19th round of the Israeli league. The visitors held a 12 points advantage over Maccabi however a heroic comeback led by Cole and Thomas in the fourth quarter gave the yellows the El-Classico 77:74 win just before the game against Khimki Moscow region on Thursday.

“We fought and we didn’t give up” said coach Spahija, “finally in the fourth quarter we found the five guys that can defend. I told the players in the locker rooms at halftime that we don’t have enough energy. Pierre Jackson played sick today. We need to rest because we are really tired. We don’t have energies, we played 50 games so far and the other teams in the league played 20 and that’s all the difference”.

“As the team’s leader I had to find ways to help the team and it was with shooting” said Norris Cole who finished the game with MVP honors, “we played good on defense in the fourth quarter. We need to keep playing defense and to make shots on offense, when we make shots we can win any team”.
